Rockin J Bar S Ranch

Deuces Skipper W -  (Roanie)

Thank you to all of you who showed his foals. I’d also like to thank everyone who has contacted me to express condolences. The support from all of you has truly touched me.

Deuces Skipper W was laid to rest here at the ranch. There will always be a special place in my heart for my "Roanie Pony".

Rest in Peace Roanie.

It is with great sadness that I inform you of the death of Deuces Skipper W.

Roanie was euthanized July 2, 2008. He had suffered a massive stroke, which an autopsy determined was caused by an abscess on his brain.

I purchased Roanie from Toney Harrell of Midland, North Carolina. He was sired by Three Deuces and out of Flying X Skip (QH).

Roanie came to the Rockin J Bar S Ranch in 2003. He earned 13 Grands and 20 Reserves to complete his APHA Superior in Halter. In 2004 he was the Arizona State Champion three-year-old Halter Stallion. Roanie also won the Arizona State Champion Aged Stallion division and Arizona State Overall Grand Champion Halter Stallion in 2005.

After his retirement from the show ring, he began to make his mark as a breeding stallion.

In three short years, he has sired more than 30 foals currently in the registry, with more to come in 2009. Many of his offspring have earned state titles and won money in Futurity classes. Several have also earned national points in Halter, Yearling In-Hand Trail and Yearling Lunge Line classes.

Just before his death, Roanie was named on the APHA leading sires list for Halter Class winners.

His legacy will live on through the great foals he sired. He will be greatly missed and always remembered through his foals in the years to come.

2009 is Roanie's last foal crop.  Check back for photos of the new arrivals soon!

In 2010 the Rockin J Bar S Ranch will start breeding one of his sons, Deuces Reflection, to carry on his genetics.  Check out his pages.
